The Velocity e-Store is a handy way to boost your Velocity Points balance while shopping online at hundreds of retailers. If you were going to buy that new summer dress or iPhone anyway, why not click through to get some extra Velocity Points?

Velocity Points can be used for reward flights on Virgin Australia and partner airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Air Canada and more. You can also transfer Velocity Points to the KrisFlyer program to book Star Alliance partner airlines!

What is the Velocity e-Store?

The Velocity e-Store is the loyalty program’s version of an online shopping portal. Savvy Velocity Frequent Flyer members can earn Velocity Points on purchases from a large range of online partner retailers.

During special promo periods, you could earn more than 10 Velocity Points per dollar spent at major retailers! Add to that a points-earning credit card, and you can see how easy it is to earn rewards while shopping.

Velocity e-Store is an ‘online mall’ which works by getting you to click through to a partner retailer. Any purchases you make will earn bonus points to your frequent flyer account. Do note that it often takes a few months from purchase to get the points, as retailers usually wait for the returns period to end before approving the bonus points.

Other online shopping portals like Qantas Shopping and Cashrewards also carry some of the same retailers and are alternate ways to earn points or money back from online purchases.

How do I earn Velocity Points with the Velocity e-Store?

You’ll typically earn at least two Velocity Points per dollar spent with any of the partners within the eStore. That’s on top of the usual points you’d earn from your credit card. You can also pick up dedicated coupons and vouchers to use from the Velocity e-Store here.

The main way to enter the shopping portal is to head to the Velocity e-Store website on a desktop, laptop or tablet.

  1. To start, head to the Velocity eStore home page and log in to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account
  2. Click on the retailer you wish to shop at. The page will tell you how many Velocity Points you can earn per dollar, plus any applicable promo codes you can use.
  3. Complete your purchase on the retailer’s website. Do not visit other websites during this time, or your purchase might not track
  4. When you have checked out, that’s it! Sit tight and wait a few weeks (or months) for the points to credit.

In comparison to Qantas Shopping, the Velocity e-Store tends to have a slightly higher base earn rate on some retailers, making this a favourite of readers.

What do I need to know when using the Velocity e-Store?

Some retailers may have exclusions on products that won’t earn Velocity Points, such as buying gift cards or when a transaction is paid using gift cards. These conditions can be found on the retailer’s offer page.

The Velocity e-Store online mall relies on digital cookies to track your purchases. That means you should ensure nothing is blocking cookies or ads on the pages you wish to visit.

To ensure successful tracking of purchases, make sure you click through the retailer on the Velocity eStore while logged in to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account. Do not visit any other web pages until the transaction is completed.

If you do visit other pages or fail to make a transaction, make sure to click back through the Velocity e-Store website on your next attempt. You’ll want to start a fresh session to ensure everything goes through.

Cashback websites, such as Cashrewards and Shopback, use the same mechanism to give your reward. The same goes for Qantas Shopping. Whichever link you click through last will be attributed the transaction, so no triple-dipping here!

Choose between 8 Velocity Points per $1 or up to 5% cashback with Groupon, but not both.

Don’t forget the finalise the purchase with a points-earning credit card to make the most of both worlds.

Summing up

Velocity’s e-Store online shopping portal is useful for picking up bonus Velocity Points on purchases that you were going to make anyway.

It’s essential to check if another frequent flyer program’s portal can earn you more points on your specific purchases, though. Our ‘Bonus Points Finder’ tool can help you compare the current bonus points offers between different online malls.

Velocity Frequent Flyer is going from strength to strength in 2023, with great reward seat availability across a range of partners. You don’t want to be caught short of points.
