American Express cards have a great money-saving perk — regular cashback deals on both big-name brands and smaller boutique stores. If they happen to cover things you’d normally buy anyway, these offers are a great way to make the most out of your card.
On the points side of things, American Express doesn’t disappoint either. Whether it’s bonus points for adding an additional cardholder or for transferring to a partner, here are the latest American Express promotions.
Get ready for the next round of Amex offers by signing up for a new card.
Highlighted Deals and Promotions from American Express
Note: Not all American Express deals may be available to all Card Members, or may differ from what is shown below. Some offers are targeted to specific individuals and card types.
1. $75/$150 back on Qantas and Qantas Hotels & Holidays
Expiry: 2 October 2023 |
To celebrate the imminent return of daylight savings (is that a thing?…), American Express is launching a range of new card offers. But you have to be quick – enrolments are limited and they expire on 2 October.
The two headline travel offers are:
- Spend $500, get $75 back on Qantas
- Spend $500, get $150 back on Qantas Hotels & Holidays

If you already have upcoming travel on Qantas planned, it’s a no-brainer to save this offer and purchase the flight on your Amex. Same for Qantas Hotels – with the added flexibility of being able to book refundable room rates in case your plans change later on.
There are also long-standing offers for United and Hertz which you may find useful.
Summing up
Need a reminder on how to access these American Express deals and promotions? Read our dedicated guide to taking advantage of Amex Offers. For cashback offers, be sure to save the offers to your card before doing the transaction, and check the T&Cs for each deal to make sure you don’t do anything that would make the transaction ineligible.
For bonus transfer offers, head to the Membership Rewards transfer page and log in to your account to ensure the correct bonus is showing for you. Some bonuses are tiered or targeted to specific cardholders, so it’s worth checking the fine print. Bonus offers will show up in the description, but not on the calculator.

Thanks for the useful article. I have quite a few AMEX points sitting in American Express, normally when these bonuses come up, I transfer some across to Velocity to pick up the bonus as I know i will use them for all my domestic travel. I generally prefer to keep the points in AMEX until needed then move the relevant partner airline for business class travel when I’m ready to book. I noticed the 50% on Marriot Bonvoy basically means a 1:1 transfer but there is no value in moving them to MB, then to Velocity or similar. Is there value in holding MB for other reasons and will they expire if not used?
Thanks – very useful article – the bonus to Marriott Bonvoy had escaped my notice and could be very handy.
Little more than clickbait. Expect better of you guys.
