Jetting off with Qatar Airways in early 2025? Activate this offer and make a new Qatar Airways booking by 20 October to earn 100% bonus Velocity Points on each Qatar Airways-operated flight. Travel dates are from 10 January to 25 March 2025. The bonus applies to the base points before any other perks (such as tier bonuses) are applied.
There’s no limit to the number of new bookings you can make under this offer. Just be sure to add your Velocity number at the time of booking and ensure it remains on your booking when you travel. You’ll earn double bonus points per eligible one-way flight.
If you’re travelling with others, make sure they also activate the offer and add their Velocity number to the new booking to be eligible for bonus points.
The bonus Velocity Points are credited up to 4 weeks after the flight. As usual, this offer applies to fares that would usually earn points, so reward seats are excluded, as are Virgin Australia ‘U’ fares.

And lets say I’m flying Virgin during these 4 months, and I reach 80 status credits and 2 sectors during that time. Is that automatic gold 12 months … or I have to do this earning after I achieve the “minimum spend” (4 months) ?

When I made the booking I took a screen shot of the sale page so I could prove what I was saying was correct. At the time when the sale began, it clearly read “Receive 30% off the points amount required to redeem Economy and Business Class Reward Seat on flights across Australia and Beyond”. (No mention of Virgin operated flights only in either the blurb or the T&C)
Since I raised it with Virgin, and after I booked and lodged a complaint that I am entitled to 30% off the points, I see that they have now changed the wording to “Receive 30% off the Points amount required to redeem Economy and Business Class Reward Seats WHEN YOU TRAVEL ON VIRGIN AUSTRALIA FLIGHTS across Australia and beyond.
That bit about “when you travel on Virgin Australia Flights” was not on the original sale fare advertising.
The original T&C had absolutely no mention that it only applied to Virgin Operated only flights. Originally the T&C (Screen shotted) said the sale applied to “year round Economy and Business level reward seats”.
Since then they’ve added in the words “Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights” which weren’t there in the beginning when I saw the sale and made my booking to take advantage of it.
As for Virgin’s website original T&C’s, it does mention “Redemption bookings are available across our international and domestic network (excluding Christmas Island & Cocos Island).”
My interpretation of ‘our’ is meaning Virgin Australia’s network and not partners, but your interpretation is something you’ll need to chase up with them.
But just for interest, the word “us, we, our” actually has a definition under Virgin’s Conditions of Carriage – it means Virgin “or any other carrier that accepts the booking”. So that means there was nothing at all in the original advert that limited the 30% discount to Virgin Operated flights only. They only changed the wording after I booked it and made them aware (and I’m presuming others probably made them aware too). Will let you know how I go.
Any insight, or indication for a double status credit promo?
The timing of double status credit promotions is unfortunately never known in advance. If we are to go by previous promotions, one would be due soon, however, it has been noted that Qantas may be moving away from blanket double status credit promotions, or at the very least, reducing the number of them, in favour of more targeted offers based on a member’s travel and search history.
Looking at the T&Cs on the e-mail, it suggests the 10,000,000 points are worth $317,073.17 (ex GST). So that suggests Velocity are valuing their own points at
3.17c each (+GST)
– A little overstated perhaps?
I have found a one way business class route (3 legs), that includes a leg in the A330 for under $650 but can only be booked via an agent as it is not available on the VA website.

The terms and conditions don’t exclude agents. Just make sure to register for the promotion and book an eligible Virgin Australia flight during the promotion period.

Secure Parking is with QFF, so I can’t see Wilson partnering with QFF anytime soon. The Secure Parking-QFF offering wasn’t as good as the Wilson-VFF as it only allowed a secure a bay option to collect points.
I’m not sure why this would be the case. I would suggest to go direct to the source on this one and contact Velocity.
What is the best way to shop using flybuys? Will I be eligible just by swiping my flybuys card at coles and 1st choice liquor as I normally do? Or do i need to transfer flybuys points to velocity?
The terms of the promotion state that “To be eligible to receive the Christmas bonus Velocity Points you must earn Velocity Points between 20 November 2018 and 08 January 2019 (Activity Date) with three (3) or more Participating Partners”.
The only way to earn Velocity points from Flybuys is to transfer your Flybuys points to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account. Simply swiping your Flybuys card at Coles or 1st Choice will earn you Flybuys points only, which by itself is not sufficient to meet the requirements of this promotion.
Do you know if this offer is available for departures starting from ADL? For e.g booking a ADL-HKG via MEL on the outbound and inbound.
Do you get points if you book the tickets via an OTA? Say Amex Travel?
I’ve activated the offer and have some travel credit left with Amex.

The current triple points offer terms advise it is not valid with any other offers or promotions. Would the 10% off codes publicised on Point Hacks fall in to this category i.e. if I booked MEL-HKG using the virgin discount codes would I no longer be eligible for the Triple points?

The Velocity points I received for the Delta flight were low, 0.5 pt per mile. Will I get the double points for the return leg even though I booked in Nov 2016?
