EXCLUSIVE | After opening more than 16 years ago, Singapore Airlines’ current SilverKris lounge in Perth will be succeeded by a brand-new space offering enhanced facilities and new dining options.

Set to open by the end of the year, the new SilverKris lounge will be located within the shell of the former Qantas International Business Lounge in Perth’s Terminal 1 International. With a vastly increased footprint compared to before, the lounge will seat almost 140 passengers – roughly double the current capacity.

The new SilverKris Lounge will be located opposite Gate 52.

Singapore Airlines has a long history with Perth

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Louis Arul, told Point Hacks that investing in a new lounge for Perth reinforced Singapore Airlines’ commitment to Western Australia.

We launched our services to Perth in 1967 and since then we’ve invested in and grown our operations to support the West Australian region. Building a brand-new lounge in Perth will deliver an enhanced travel experience and reinforces our commitment to the Perth market.

The decision to acquire a new space to build the lounge allows us to minimise the disruption to our customers during the development phase and once work is complete, allows for a seamless transition to the new space.

The new SilverKris Perth lounge will feature Singapore Airlines’ ‘Home Away from Home’ concept, taking elements from the recently renovated SilverKris lounges at Changi Airport. Passengers can look forward to an expanded buffet area with a live-cooking station and full bar, along with shower facilities.

Different zones will cater to different needs, from quiet relaxation coves to the popular productivity pods for a comfortable workspace before the flight.

As usual, the lounge will welcome Business Class passengers, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members travelling on Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance partners. Virgin Australia Velocity Gold, Platinum and Beyond members can also enjoy access in Perth before a Singapore Airlines flight.

Singapore Airlines has long been a stalwart presence in Perth, having serviced the Western Australia capital for more than 50 years. Currently, the airline flies between Perth and Singapore thrice daily, with an additional four flights per week added during the peak travel period from 24 November 2023 to 14 January 2024.
