Etihad Guest are attempting to poach Gold members of other Frequent Flyer programs by offering a status match to Etihad Guest Gold for those who currently have Gold or higher status with another airline.

You’ll also need to have travelled (and prove it) in Business or First Class to Europe or the Middle East at least twice in the last 12 months, reside in Australia, and apply by midnight tomorrow, August 6th, to be eligible.
To apply, you’ll need to be matching from a program other than Velocity or Krisflyer, and:

  1. Enroll into the Etihad Guest programme if you are not yet a member
  2.  Send the following documents to [email protected]:

* Your Etihad Guest number
* A scanned copy of your existing Gold card from another loyalty programme and your most recent statement
* Documents  that prove that you have  travelled in Business or First Class to Europe or the Middle East at least twice in the past 12 months. This can include ticket copies, boarding cards or loyalty program statements.

Etihad ran this offer very briefly to the end of July – I only picked it up the day it ended so didn’t post about it, but this time managed to notice the offer renewal with enough time that others might be able to take advantage of this.

My Virgin Gold status is up in a few months, I won’t get it renewed, so I’ll be sticking my hat in the ring with Etihad Guest to see if they are interested in having me in their lounges – the key benefit of Etihad Guest Gold.
