I don’t normally do reminder or round-up posts, instead preferring to keep your inboxes and social feeds clear for new things…

However, there are a few promotions that are worth considering as the year draws to a close.

Starwood 25% points discount – ends 31st December →

Buy up to 20,000 Starpoints (= 25,000 of most airline miles) for 2.625 US cents per Starpoint.

Useful for buying points currencies that aren’t normally buyable, e.g. Velocity points, KrisFlyer miles or Asia Miles, or for leveraging into high-end hotel stays.

American Airlines’ massive AAdvantage bonuses – ends January 4th →

Given AAdvantage upcoming award chart changes in March, only buy if you know you can get good use out of them very soon – but if you buy before 31st December you could then buy again once your annual limit resets on 1st January.

Etihad’s 25% bonus on Etihad Guest mile transfers from credit card programs →

Not useful on it’s own, but if you have a stash of Amex Membership Rewards points (or other currency transferrable to Etihad Guest) this is very usable for some cheaper Virgin Australia Business Class redemptions.

5 Qantas Points per $ on Qantas Gift Vouchers until 31st December

Although not as lucrative as previous year’s promotions of 10 points per $, this is still worth taking advantage of for the bonus points and removal of booking fees when you end up using the vouchers.

Are there any I’ve missed?

You can always check the ‘Active Deals’ list on the site for the current deals too – these will be included on the emails that go out once I get around to building that functionality.
