Businesses that fly Qantas regularly might consider earning Qantas Points on their everyday business spends. This could reduce the net cost of future business trips, by booking company flights using points rather than paying full fare. Or, businesses could reward staff by using company points for flight upgrades and premium cabins. That’s where the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card could come into play.

As well as earning Qantas Points for the business, this Card offers extra perks that could save money elsewhere. For instance, savings on paid Qantas flight bookings, discounts on Qantas Club membership and access to Visa Commercial Offers, bringing savings on products like Google Workspace.

Here’s a look at some of the points and perks attached to the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card.

Earning points on the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card

Businesses could earn Qantas Points on company spends at the following rates via the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card.

  • Everyday spend, including ATO and government payments: 1 Qantas Point per $1.50 spent, up to $50,000 per card per statement period.
  • Eligible spend with Qantas: An extra 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on top of the applicable earning rate, uncapped. This applies when booking Qantas flights in AUD direct with Qantas. It also applies to Qantas Club memberships, Qantas Marketplace and Qantas Wine orders, Qantas Hotels and when buying Qantas Gift Vouchers.

Points earned are deposited into the company’s Qantas Business Rewards account every month. As expected of practically every rewards card in Australia, transactions such as cash advances don’t accrue points.

Travel rewards and perks

Along with the points that businesses could earn through the NAB Qantas Business Signature Card, there’s a suite of other benefits available too.

  • Complimentary Qantas Business Rewards (QBR) membership. This brings an $89.50 saving to the usual sign-up fee. Then, as a QBR member, businesses can access perks like discounted Qantas Club memberships and savings on eligible Qantas flights.
  • NAB Commercial Cards Transit Accident Insurance and Unauthorised Transaction Insurance. Eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, exclusions and applicable sub-limits apply.
  • Visa Commercial Offers. Gain access to a 24/7 concierge service for travel and lifestyle services. Discounts and cashback offers are also common. For instance, right now, there’s a standing deal offering 25% off Google Workspace Business Standard plans.

To the first point, the savings available to Qantas Business Rewards members can be considerable. Even after joining as a free member, Qantas Club memberships get 20% cheaper. On a typical $699 annual membership, this reduces the cost to $559.20 per person (a joining fee still applies). This level of Qantas Business Rewards also provides up to 6% off eligible Qantas airfares (other than Discount Economy and Discount Business).

Point Hacks pro tip: Business owners could opt for additional NAB Qantas Business Signature Cards under the same credit account to earn rewards on a greater variety of payments. For this, an annual fee applies ($295 per Card, including the primary Card). NAB notes that on this product, points capping applies per card per statement period – handy to keep in mind for businesses spending >$50,000 by credit card per month.
