Singapore Airlines announced yesterday a range of changes to their own award chart; their Star Alliance award chart and an increase in Saver availability in Business Class on the A340 and A380, and in Business and First class on their 77W. Given these ply most of Singapore’s Australian routes, this is good news.

Prices for SIA’s own flights have increased a little, and on Star Alliance partners, more. However given that Saver level availability in premium cabins was just not possible to come by on their best products (the aircraft above), the cost for these redemptions has come down significantly.

In summary – good and bad news for loyal Krisflyer members. For those transferring points over to KF for a specific redemption, it’s probably good news, as both cost and availability of the premium redemptions opportunities will increase, from March 1st.
