Points of View - Episode 5
Podcast Ep 5 – How a newbie scored First Class (w/ Kane Richards)

How do you go from having close to 0 Frequent Flyer points in your account to booking a trip with 2 Business and 1 First Class flights just over a year later? A good friend of mine, Kane Richards, joins me in this podcast to talk about how he did just that and what he learned from the process.

It’s worth noting that the flights we discuss were booked prior to the Qantas Frequent Flyer changes that came into effect in September 2019 and at the time of recording, BP’s switch to Qantas had only just been announced.

Just a note that on this page you refer to podcasts by the number e.g., podcast episode 5. However on the podcast feed I see via PocketCasts on Android, there are no episode numbers.
    • David Walsh says:
Good spot Leila. I’ve updated to podcast feed titles to make the episode numbering visible on platforms like PocketCasts. The changes should come through to those platforms over the next few days.

Great Podcast! Names rings a bell as a Telstra colleague!

2 years ago I started my points journey, and last year my husband and I flew First Class with Emirates to Europe and back…..it was INSANE. We’re just starting to ramp up our point gathering again for a trip over the next few years to Europe (hopefully First Class again!)

    You’ll love the Emirates flight!

In this Podcast you call the Qantas OneWorld Classic Reward (OWA) a Qantas Around The World (RTW) ticket.

These are two different types of fares and confuse people.

      Hi Todd

Thanks for your message. You are right, to clarify, we were meaning a Zone 10 Qantas oneworld Classic Reward booking.
