American Express cardholders will soon be treated to 30 days of special deals and offers. The first ever Amex ‘Membership Month’ lands in November, and there’s plenty in store.
November had previously been reserved for Amex’s recurring Shop Small cashback promotion, which is now a year-round points booster. Membership Month will instead offer fresh savings and experiences at a wider range of businesses – a boon for Amex cardholders.
Membership Month special offers on travel, shopping and dining
Come November, Amex cardholders can look forward to offers across travel, retail and dining. Amex is keeping its cards close to its chest on the details for now, but has released teasers of a few highlights.
On the travel front, keep your eyes peeled for deals with American Express Travel, Rydges and RedBalloon. These deals will join a suite of recent AMEX Offers across brands such as Avis, Hertz, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott and Qantas.
For a spot of shopping, expect new offers from the likes of Amazon, JB Hi-Fi and Kogan. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for restaurant deals in your area. These will complement the existing $300 cashback promotion on dining for American Express Platinum Card Members.
Prefer to stay in? You’ll be able to livestream cooking classes at home, too.
Fresh Membership Month deals across entertainment and wellness
Speaking of streaming, Membership Month brings live pilates and yoga classes into your loungeroom. Amex tips that other “wellness events” will also take place throughout November.
Don’t forget, as an American Express Card Member, you can also access 12 months of complimentary Centr membership. Centre by Chris Hemsworth gives you training plans to follow, meal suggestions and more. Just be sure to sign up by February 14 2022 to start your free year-long membership.
Through Membership Month, you can also snap up early release tickets and exclusive offers via American Express Experiences and Ticketmaster. Full details will appear on the Amex website by 1 November 2021.
Even more to enjoy this November
November is also shaping up to be a rewarding month for Amex Membership Rewards cardholders. Converting points from American Express to KrisFlyer or Velocity comes with the following bonuses:
- Receive 25% more Velocity Points when you convert your Membership Rewards points into Velocity Points between 1-30 November 2021.
- Receive up to 15% bonus KrisFlyer miles when you convert your Amex points into KrisFlyer miles by 22 November 2021.
With KrisFlyer, you’ll nab a 12% boost when converting 10,000 to 49,999 KrisFlyer miles in a single transfer. With American Express, that’s 20,000 to 99,998 Membership Rewards points. Convert 50,000 KrisFlyer miles or more in a single transfer and you’ll instead get the full 15% bonus.
Separately, you’ll also earn one KrisFlyer Elite mile for every five KrisFlyer miles you convert. Meaning? A conversion of 125,000 KrisFlyer miles will bump you straight to KrisFlyer Elite Silver. Transfer at least 250,000 KrisFlyer miles instead and you’ll take home the gold – KrisFlyer Elite Gold, that is!
Although the 12-15% bonus on KrisFlyer transfers expires on 22 November 2021, this fast-track to KrisFlyer status runs until 28 February 2022.

American Express’ first ever Membership Month comes at a great time. Offers on travel and dining are sure to come in handy as restrictions ease across Australia. Other deals might also prove useful when getting an early start on your Christmas shopping.
There’s no further change to Amex’s popular Shop Small deal, either. Shop Small continues to provide bonus points until 31 March 2022 for enrolled cardholders. With three extra points earned per dollar spent, up to 40,000 bonus points can be collected via each enrolled card.
