How do I redeem EVT Stays points?

With the latest program update, you now need 100 to 300 points for a reward night. On average, here’s how many nights each member would need to stay at a Group One hotel to redeem a free night at the same property:

  • Silver: around 15 paid nights for one free night
  • Gold: around 12 paid nights for one free night
  • Platinum: around 10 paid nights for one free night
  • Black: around 8 paid nights for one free night

Reward night bookings are subject to availability and are non-refundable, unlike most other hotel chain reward bookings. Occasionally, EVT Stays will also offer one-off promotions to use your points on dining, gift cards and more as in-house guests. You’ll see these offers on your EVT Stays dashboard.

How do I contact EVT Stays?

Have a question? The easiest way to get in touch is via the web form. The rewards program doesn’t have a direct phone number, though you can contact the hotel directly for urgent stay enquiries.

  1. My favourite hotel program – I have been Black status for years and the 6pm checkouts, double room upgrades, 20% off room rates and 50% of F&B and ease of redeeming room nights make it the best value rewards program. It is not dynamically priced like many other hotel programs and it is still fixed in value so during peak periods you gain extra return on your redemption (if available). EVT did change make changes to the program from Priority Guest to categorise the grades of hotels which did make it a bit harder but you earn a bit more if you stay at Group 1. I love the QT boutique brand so that is where i stay the most and the newly renovated Rydges like Melbourne which is excellent. I get lots of personal touches like free drinks, little gifts. Black is by invitation only now though so I am not sure how that is now measured (used to be 10 visits or 30 nights a year). It is ANZ predominantly but I have used QT Singas too and they plan to expand. It parted ways with Discovery but I found these hotels to be mass and vanilla anyway and not very boutique. I think the program offers much more than IHG, Accor, Marriott. You normally need to be staying at the hotel to use the F&B benefit but can bring guests (up to 4 per table) – I saved $500 on my F&B tab once. EVT is frequently on sale so they keep on top of occupancy by offering good deals.

    1. The website migration from PG to EVT stays was a trainwreck. I was pushing them to upgrade the website for years though and they finally did something about it last year. It took forever and lots of teething issues. Even now there are significant delays in crediting your points stays. Management of bookings has improved as this was another problem area in the past. Now you can see the booking details and price and cancel from your dashboard (not previously).

  2. This claims to be updated 21 February 2025 but who knows what the update is – looks like simple lazy recycling of the program features to me.

There is no independent discussion of the EVT stays program in practice. I was migrated from the PGR program to EVT stays. That process was a trainwreck. The only Rydges I want to stay in is the well located Rydges at Sydney Airport before a morning flight. My experience is that EVT stays promos where you get UP TO (my emphasis) off are completely deceptive. Although I guess “up to” does include zero! All you get at this property, despite whatever the promo says, is the EVT Stays member 10 per cent discount. And Rydges Sydney Airport runs a dynamic pricing model where even if you are a member, you are never guaranteed the cheapest price for your stay. And their IT is still a total non-functional joke.

    1. Hi Tony, the update was to change everything from Priority Guest Rewards to EVT Stays as we had not updated that content since the name change yet. The purpose of these ‘first stop’ guides is to summarise the program features into a single page as often lots of the finer details are obscured in the T&Cs or other pages. We don’t add reports of experiences (first-hand or reader-contributed) to these guides, but you’re welcome to discuss them here or on the Community page.

    1. So does that mean existing members of PHR Rewards Program automatically get a Discovery membership? Or do they now have to apply for the Discovery Program seperate?

  3. I find PGR and 1 other well known group
Very difficult to make bookings as there hotels i wish to use are being used for quarantine

  4. It is the best value hotel loyalty program going around I reckon. I have been Black status for over 10 years and I have received so many benefits. I constantly get 6pm checkouts so I book 8pm flights to leave as it is effectively an uninterrupted day for no extra cost, 50% off F&B is great value, especially if entertaining friends or self, double room upgrades also lands me in suites or great rooms. Just 30 nights or 10 stays. the free local experiences offered by Discovery are great too in each destination. I have compared their price value and they can save you up to $200 for each one earned. Compare this to major hotel brands and they are alot harder to get benefits and reach status levels in a mass market. QT boutique hotels are my fave!

    1. Black Tier Membership Maintenance and Discovery Program Questions:

      1. An attempt to read the fine print of the T&Cs for the PGR Rewards Program resulted in confusion rather than clarity
My main area of confusion related to the maintenance of the Black PGR Tier Status: “to maintain the status of a Black PGR Member an individual must continue to stay a certain number of Hotel Room Nights or Hotel Stays – Currently, 10 Hotel Stays or 30 Hotel Room Nights per calendar year is required”

SO does that mean the 10 HOTEL STAYS must be a minimum of three consecutive nights to qualify? Given that would be equal to 30 one night HOTEL ROOM STAYS?

      2. Do I now need to join the Discovery Program since they separated in 2021?
OR do existing PGR Program Members automatically get registered in the new Discovery Program? And is there a different digital card issued for this program?

Any clarification would be most appreciated ‍♀️

      2.

      1. That does sound good. Can you confirm if the food + beverage discount can be claimed even if not staying at the hotel?

      2. No, it was just 10 x 1 night stays or 30 nights in total. I just did 10 x 1-2 night stays a year and received Black status pretty easily each year.
