World360 Rewards

Is World360 Rewards Member Plus worth $249?

Two lounge passes, bonus points to spend and savings on currency can already 'break even'.

World360 Rewards offers travellers a bundle of practical travel perks through its paid Member Plus membership, including airport lounge passes, international eSIM data and a discount on travel money.

As the loyalty program of Flight Centre, Travel Associates and Cruiseabout, World360 Rewards is free to join. But it also offers a paid Member Plus option for $249 per year. World360 Rewards says the package includes benefits worth more than $600, based on the recommended retail prices of the included perks.

For travellers who can make use of the benefits, Member Plus could be worth considering ahead of an overseas trip – just double-check to make sure the numbers stack up for you.

15,000 bonus points included each time

Est. value: ~$149

Each time you sign up or renew, Member Plus includes 15,000 bonus World360 Rewards points. These can be used as a ‘Points Plus Pay’ option when booking a trip with Flight Centre, Travel Associates or Cruiseabout.

You can also redeem points for other rewards and experiences, where the points could go a long way to help you secure VIP concert tickets, hotel stays and more. Or if you’d rather redeem something under 15,000 points straight away, popular choices include lounge access and various day tours, such as a day trip to Fitzroy Island from Cairns including a selected activity (worth ~$149).

Two airport lounge passes included

Est. value: ~$110

One of the main attractions of Member Plus is the inclusion of two airport lounge or experience passes for the membership year. Priority Pass issues these lounge passes.

Lounge access can be a welcome perk for travellers who don’t hold airline elite status or fly Business Class. Depending on the lounge and its facilities, a visit can offer somewhere more comfortable to wait for a flight, with refreshments also usually included.

For example, say you’ve booked return Qantas flights to Singapore and don’t have lounge access in Changi. With these lounge passes, you could visit the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 1, where Qantas flights usually depart from. Access currently costs around SG$99 (A$110) for two people when booked online, so that’s more savings with your membership.

Speaking of lounge access, you have access to register a set number of flights for Flight Delay Cover. How this works is if your registered flight/s are delayed by more than 120 minutes, you’ll automatically get sent lounge access passes at the airport, if there is a participating lounge.

Save $50 on Travel Money Oz + more

Est. value: from ~$269

Member Plus also includes a 1GB international eSIM, providing a small allowance of mobile data to use when travelling overseas. An eSIM can be a convenient alternative to buying a physical SIM card after landing – consider this as a starter pack if you want to hit the ground running (you can always top it up later).

Finally, you can pick three additional benefits from a list. One useful option is a $50 discount when loading $100+ in Australian dollars onto a Currency Pass from Travel Money Oz. For smaller loads (such as a few days in Asia), that’s a significant saving against any other method.

Another high-value pick is a 12-month WithU Fitness app subscription (worth ~$209 if you do plan to work out consistently), luggage personalisation on selected July purchases, offers from Langton Premium Wines and upgrades for pet stays with Pet Resorts Australia.

Depending on whether you can take advantage of all of these offers, there’s over $250 worth of value.

Is World360 Rewards Member Plus worth $249 a year?

At $249 annually, Member Plus is most compelling for travellers who expect to use several of its benefits rather than relying on just one. The two lounge passes, 15,000 bonus points and potential $50 Travel Money Oz saving offer tangible value, while a few other selected benefits add to the package.

There are also a few ‘nice-to-haves’ such as the 1GB starter eSIM and Travel Delay Cover, though it’s hard to put a value on that insurance. Overall, most World360 Rewards members should exceed the ‘break-even’ value with just one trip a year, using most of the key benefits of Membership Plus.
