Qantas Marketplace might be known as a place to use your points to buy items. But for savvy frequent flyers, it’s also a valuable resource to earn bonus Qantas Points on specific gift cards you might be planning to use anyway.
Up until the end of April 2026, Qantas Marketplace delivered a solid 3 Qantas Points per dollar spent on all purchases. But that’s changed, with the website now offering up to 3 points per dollar. Unsurprisingly, some popular gift cards have now had their earning rates slashed.
What’s changed on Qantas Marketplace?
Looking through Qantas Marketplace, it seems the main products affected by this change are gift cards. However, not all gift cards have had their points changed. It would be good to make a note of the points you earn per dollar when purchasing.
Here are a few important mentions of products that have changed:
- Woolworths Group Everyday WISH Gift Card – now earns 1 point per $1 spent
- Airbnb Gift Card – now earns 2 points per $1 spent
- Harvey Norman Gift Card – now earns 1 point per $1 spent
- Amazon Gift Card – now earns 1 point per $1 spent
Summing Up
While Qantas Marketplace still offers bonus points on digital gift cards, it’s no longer as lucrative on ‘high value’ brands such as Everyday WISH, Amazon and Airbnb.
If there’s no bonus on those brands elsewhere, you’ll still earn some points through Qantas Marketplace. However, it won’t be as high as you’re used to. Remember, if you don’t have a credit card that earns an additional point per dollar spent at Qantas (such as the Amex Qantas Ultimate), you can also enjoy a similar bonus with the Qantas Pay prepaid card.

Earn 70,000 bonus Qantas Points in Year 1 with the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card when you apply online by 5 May 2026, are approved, and spend $5,000 in the first 3 months. Plus, 30,000 bonus Qantas Points in Year 2 after minimum of $1 spend on the Card within 90 days of paying the Year 2 Annual Card Fee.
