IHG Rewards Club is enticing travellers to holiday in their own back yard with a special points promotion for stays in Australia (or around Asia if you already happen to be based there).
This IHG promotions guide will be updated with the latest offers as they come out. For specials with purchasing IHG Rewards points, see our dedicated guide to ‘IHG Buy Points Promotions’.

Current offer: up to 4x bonus points
Whether it’s a work trip or beach trip, here’s how to pocket up to four times the normal number of points you would normally get, from staying at any IHG hotel or resort across Australasia.
Just simply book and stay at a participating property before 8 September 2020. You’ll start earning a points multiplier as follows:
- 2x bonus points on your first two stays
- 3x bonus points on your third stay
- 4x bonus points on your fourth stay onwards
The cap on bonus points for this promotion, from all stays combined, is 400,000 IHG Rewards points. Each individual stay is also capped at 100,000 bonus points.
To register for this deal, go through this link or find the offer in your email inbox and click through there.
Is this a good deal?
If you are able to travel, it’s a no-brainer to take advantage of this deal if possible. There is no registration or upfront cost required — just book any standard rate as usual and you’ll start earning the bonus points.
Once you’ve amassed a decent balance, the best thing to do is usually redeem it for a free hotel night. Depending on the hotel and seasonal periods, a room could command from 7,500 points to upwards of 45,000 points per night.
IHG is introducing dynamic reward pricing which could lead to higher rates, but the chain promises to keep points rates the same or lower (during off-peak periods) for the next 50 weeks or so.
Rewards Nights booked with points are also fully refundable up to 6pm the night before checking-in, making them a great way to book accommodation during uncertain times.
This is a great IHG promotion to take advantage of if you’re able to explore our beautiful backyard. The Intercontinental Hotels Group (i.e. IHG) has many properties across Australia, from luxe city hotels to cosy country properties.
Remember to consider IHG ‘Book Now Pay Later’ for a flexible room rate with sharper pricing than the usual options.
