What happens if you forget to scan your Flybuys or Everyday Rewards card?

Forgot to scan your your rewards card? Follow these steps to get your points back!

Imagine it’s time to do your weekly grocery shop. You’ve activated all your deals and written your shopping list. You’ve browsed and paid. But when you later check to see how many points you’ve earned, the penny drops. You forgot to scan your rewards card.

Don’t stress – it’s actually an easy fix! Here’s what you can do to claim those points back from Flybuys or Everyday Rewards in Australia.

How to claim missed Flybuys points

If you’ve shopped at Coles and forgot to scan your Flybuys card, here’s what you can do.

  • In-store purchases: Return to the same store you made the purchase at with your receipt and Flybuys card within 7 days. Staff will be able to add the points in.
  • Online purchases: Contact Flybuys online.

If you shopped in-store through Officeworks, the process is similar. Return to the same store within 7 days with your receipt and Flybuys card. A team member will then be able to process a refund and put the sale through again, scanning your Flybuys in the process. The points from the new sale will then be added to your account once processed.

For all other partners, you can enquire online and chat with an agent to find out what actions to take. You may need to complete a form and provide photos of proof of purchase. Once that’s done, the missing points should be added within 2 business days.

How to claim missed Everyday Rewards points

If you’ve forgotten to scan your card after your Woolworths shop, or with any other Everyday Rewards partner, you’ll need to make a claim online.

  • All purchases: Open a chat online with ‘Mandy’, the Woolworths digital helper. Select the ‘Add Points’ prompt and follow the steps from there. Make sure you have a copy of your receipt on hand so you can fill in all the required information.

Points will typically appear in your account within 3 days, though this may vary by retailer.

Summing up

Don’t panic if you think you have forgotten to scan your rewards card at one of these retailers. Most of the time, your missing points can be added onto your account with a proof of purchase. If not, making an enquiry or chatting online with a team member can hopefully help you resolve your issue.

With Flybuys, note that there is only a seven-day grace period, so be sure to check your balances regularly. It might help to add your Everyday Rewards and Flybuys cards to your mobile wallet.

Also, keep in mind that these instructions apply to claiming the base points on a receipt. If you’ve missed out on bonus points (such as through gift card offers), you might want to call Flybuys or Everyday Rewards to try to claim them over the phone with an agent.
