If you’re already a CommBank customer, there’s a good chance you’re sitting on more travel value than you realise. The Travel Booking platform via the CommBank app isn’t just a place to book flights. It’s also your smart travel optimisation tool.

Think exclusive deals, built-in rewards and AI-powered insights. Here are three “in-the-know” ways to squeeze more value out of your next trip.

Earn travel credits on flights, hotels and more

Booking through Travel Booking means you can line up flights, hotels and car hire in one place. But the real upside? Getting rewarded after you book.

Eligible CommBank Yello customers can earn up to 10% back in travel credits1 on eligible bookings. For a CommBank Yello Plus customer, that’s effectively a partial rebate on your hotel bookings.

For CommBank Yello Gold and Diamond customers, you’ll also get travel credits1 on flights – without jumping through hoops. These credits typically land in your account within 5-7 days and can be used on your next booking for up to two years.

Stack deals (and know where the real value is)

You can access special deals and stack extra value to put towards your current or next holiday. This is on top of the travel credits1 you get for eligible bookings if you are an eligible CommBank Yello customer.

Travel Booking also regularly runs other promotions, such as up to 30% off select hotels (that promo just finished up in March 2026), so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stack savings.

Let AI help by telling you when it’s good to book (seriously)

Timing flights for a good deal has always been part guesswork, part luck. Travel Booking via the CommBank app leans more heavily on data. Built-in AI-powered tools, powered in partnership with Hopper, help take the guesswork out:

  • Price Prediction2 analyses fare trends and suggests whether to book now or wait.
  • Watched Trips2 tracks specific flights and alerts you when it’s a good deal.

If Travel Booking via the CommBank app says to ‘wait’, you can simply watch the trip and let Travel Booking do the work.

And what if Travel Booking suggests it’s a great time to book? If the price of a recommended flight drops within 10 days, you could get up to $50 back in travel credits with Auto Price Drop. The best part is that this credit will be automatically added, so you don’t have to lift a finger.

I’m a CommBank customer – do I automatically have access to Travel Booking?

Only if you are over the age of 18 and have an active CommBank retail or business debit card, credit card, StepPay card, or a Travel Money Card, you can book flights, hotels and car rentals using Travel Booking.

​You’ll need the latest version of the CommBank app, (version 5.11 or later) to access Travel Booking. Once you have logged in to the CommBank app, search for ‘Travel Booking’ in the search bar and it should come up.​

Can all customers who book with Travel Booking earn travel credits?

Eligible CommBank Yello customers can earn up to 10% back in travel credits when booking eligible flights or hotels through Travel Booking. To check your CommBank Yello status, simply log in to the CommBank app and navigate to the CBA Yello tab. ​

Is redeeming travel credits for travel complicated?

When you’re ready to redeem your travel credits, just select the travel credits option at the Travel Booking checkout and enter the amount you’d like to apply. Your credits will be deducted from the total cost of your booking, helping you save instantly on your next trip.​

Does Travel Booking have fewer options than other travel booking sites?

Hopper partners with a wide range of airlines, hotels and car rental brands, so you can compare great deals across thousands of providers. Travel Booking enables customers to compare options across multiple providers in one place, reducing the need to jump between different websites.​

If my booking with Travel Booking is cheaper elsewhere, am I at a loss?

If the price of a recommended flight drops within 10 days of you booking it on Travel Booking, you could get the difference back in travel credits, up to $50 AUD, with Auto Price Drop.

If you find the same seat cheaper elsewhere, you can notify the Travel Booking Customer Support team within 24 hours of booking to get the difference back in travel credits.

Can I earn rewards from hotel loyalty programs or airline frequent flyer programs if I book a trip through Travel Booking?

This depends on the hotel or airline’s terms and conditions and is not determined by Travel Booking.​

Do Travel credits expire quickly and are they hard to use?

Travel credits have a clear expiry window of 2 years and remain available in your Travel Booking wallet to be applied to your next booking.​
