Elusive Business Rewards to Europe are now easier to book with Qantas Points, thanks to a new Middle Eastern airline partner joining the ranks. Although Oman Air’s entry into oneworld is delayed, Qantas and Oman Air are launching a new partnership that’s now serving up fresh Economy and Business rewards across more than 40 destinations.
Business Studio (Oman Air’s equivalent of First Class) redemptions with Qantas Points are set to land in early 2025. Qantas Loyalty CEO, Andrew Glance, says Oman Air is an ‘impressive airline’ with ‘a premium offering that rivals any international carrier’.
“We know how much our members love to use their points to book international reward seats, with record numbers redeemed in the last twelve months. The partnership with Oman Air is an exciting expansion to the program and will unlock tens of thousands of reward seats to places like London, Paris and Milan each year,” he enthuses.

Across the Qantas and Jetstar network, Oman Air links up in cities including Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta and Phuket. If you make your way there with other carriers, you can also book Oman Air out of Kuala Lumpur. Over in Europe, you can connect to cities such as London, Paris, Milan, Istanbul and more.
How to book Oman Air with Qantas Points
Oman Air Economy and Business reward seats show up natively on the Qantas website and multi-city booking tool. As expected, the airline sits on the ‘partner’ reward table. Here are a few examples of what you could pay.
| One-way route | Economy | Business |
| Muscat-Istanbul | 20,000 pts | 43,800 pts |
| Kuala Lumpur-Muscat Bangkok-Muscat | 24,500 pts | 61,200 pts |
| Manila-Muscat Muscat-London | 30,200 pts | 75,000 pts |
| Kuala Lumpur-Muscat-Istanbul | 37,800 pts | 90,000 pts |
| Kuala Lumpur-Muscat-London | 45,000 pts | 104,500 pts |
You can connect from Qantas and Jetstar-operated flights to Oman Air in Phuket, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, Bangalore and Delhi. Jakarta is the closest connecting point from Australia (Qantas fly there from Sydney and Melbourne). Note that Qantas and Jetstar are on a different table to Oman Air, so the points costs are additive.
Kuala Lumpur is another convenient connecting point for many travellers starting in Australia. You could tack on a Malaysia Airlines reward seat to the same booking. Alternatively, a few low-cost carriers fly between Australia and Kuala Lumpur.

Carrier charges appear to be around ~A$101 per person, per flight in Business Class. In the example above, you would pay a total of MYR 907 or ~A$313 in fees and charges for a Business Reward from Kuala Lumpur to London. That’s quite reasonable compared to other airlines.
Oman Air doesn’t fly to Australia, so it’s going to be a two-stop trip if you’re going via Asia and Muscat to Europe. But by all reports, Oman Air is an underrated airline with excellent service across the board, so they’re definitely worth considering if you’ve got the time and the points.

We recently flew Oman Air and agree excellent service. They ticketed us to BKK on Thai then it was Oman Air BKK to Muscat to Milan and return. We stayed 5 nights in Muscat which is a beautiful city. All passengers in Biz were Australians . The fare was $6,200 pp business class so half the price of Qantas and Emirates for August. Oman is a sultanate and peaceful country .
As you say if you have time ….
Not that exciting as I only want business class on 9hr+ flights and I’ve been to Muscat. It’s so spread out you wouldn’t make it a regular stopover.
Oh, thanks John, I shall inform the board not to bother. LOL. There’s probably around 15 million members of QFF, so some of the remaining 14,999,999 may find it useful, you might think.
I reckon Jakarta is more convenient than Kuala Lumpur. An hour less flying time, direct flight with Qantas from MEL and SYD on an A330 and CGK has improved out of sight in recent years. I often transit through here to connect with OW airlines like QR. I am prepared to give Oman Air another shot, but they changed my flights mid year and were unable to offer a suitable alternative itinerary. Like plenty of other airlines, the call centre experience leaves a lot to be desired even if their in flight experience is good. Oman is a beautiful country to visit and Muscat airport is new and very impressive.
