Qantas’ new reward seat tables from August 2025
Expect increases of 5-20% across most reward flights later this year.

What we'll be covering
Ahead of a major frequent flyer shake-up this year, Qantas Frequent Flyer has now released more details on the upcoming reward seat pricing changes that will take place from 5 August 2025. That leaves just under five months to make new bookings at current reward seat prices before the increase.
In short, most Qantas Classic Flight rewards are increasing by 15-20%, particularly in premium cabins on longer routes. Shorter flights will see a minor increase of around 5% and lead-in Jetstar flights in Economy will decrease by 10%. There’s also one silver lining – Emirates will move from the Partner table to the cheaper Qantas table, so the points increase for Emirates won’t be as steep overall.
In the tables below, the bold numbers indicate the number of points required from 5 August 2025, along with the percentage increase or decrease from before. The numbers with strikethrough are the current number of points needed up to 4 August 2025.
1. Qantas Classic Flight Reward table
The points needed for Qantas’ own flights, alongside Fiji Airways and American Airlines will increase from 5-20% across the board. Emirates will move back from the pricier Partner table to this table from 5 August 2025.

4. Oneworld Classic Flight Reward table
Finally, the Oneworld Classic Flight Reward table is also getting a similar update. This table covers any rewards with two or more oneworld airline partners – excluding Qantas.
It’s also the table on which the popular ’round the world’ reward with Qantas Points is based. From 5 August 2025, you’ll need these points to fly up to 35,000 miles on oneworld partner airlines (including around the world):
- Economy: 152,000 pts
- Premium Economy: 287,000 pts
- Business: 365,800 pts
- First: 523,200 pts

Summing up
Qantas usually updates its reward seat tables every 6-7 years, so this increase isn’t unexpected. But it’s still a blow to the points budget. To take advantage of current rates, we recommend locking in your future travel before 4 August 2025. Depending on when you book, that’s a travel window of up to 31 July 2026.
Five months is still plenty of time to prepare for a points devaluation, so consider taking advantage of points offers in the market if you want to travel in the next year or so.
You then waste days (I’m not kidding, 8 hours waiting in a queue for days) as you are passed to a new customer support person who starts from the beginning making exactly the same mistakes.
