Am curious if we have existing cc with Westpac, the bonus points still applies as STG is under the same umbrella company.
Same question applies with all other banks which has the ‘amplify’ rewards ie. SA, BOM
Unfortunately the terms and conditions are silent on what constitutes government spending, which are excluded from earning points. In this situation, it is best to give St George a call to confirm.
Hi, I have spend the $4000 but haven’t receive the 80k bonus yet. If I switch to Amplify rewards now, will I still get the 80k bonus in 4 to 12 weeks time? or do I need to wait for the bonus Qantas points to be credited first? I can’t find reference in the T&C about this.
After the minimum spend is made, bonus points generally take anywhere between 4 to 12 weeks to credit to your frequent flyer account, varying by each provider. If you haven’t received them in this time frame, please send your details to [email protected] so we can investigate further with St. George.
Hi Daniel,
Would there be any risk of losing the points if i cancelled the card now (after paying it out)?
I plan on searching for another card.
Cheers
Andrew
Hi Andrew
Once points are credited to your frequent flyer account, they cannot be reversed. However, if you cancel prior to receiving the bonus points, then you will forfeit these points.
Hi Daniel,
cc anyone else,
I’ve now spent the $4k required. Do you know how I get my hands the lounge passes? You gotta ring ’em up?
Cheers,
Eric
PLease see the T&Cs regarding the lounge passes below:
To be eligible for the two complimentary Qantas Lounge invitations, you must register your details at stgeorge.com.au/amplifysignature. Two complimentary lounge invitations will be automatically sent to the account holder at the same date of the initial Qantas Lounge Pass registration following the account holder’s registration. Qantas club invitations are provided courtesy of St.George Bank, and are valid for Qantas Club and Qantas operated international business lounges only. Not valid in international First Class Lounges, Chairman’s Lounge, Qantas Domestic Business, Qantas oneworld® alliance airline, partner airline or associated lounges. Each invitation is valid for a single visit before the date specified on the invitation, when travelling with Qantas or Jetstar with a QF or JQ flight number. Access and use is subject to Qantas Club rules which are available at qantas.com/qantasclub. The two Qantas Club Lounge invitations will be sent to your Card account mailing address within 4 weeks of your registration, provided you are not in breach of the Conditions of Use, your account remains open and that there has been a transaction of more than $1 within the last 12 months. The two Qantas Club Lounge invitations will expire on the date printed on the invitations. Qantas Club Lounge invitations will not be issued to customers who do not first register via stgeorge.com.au/amplifysignature. If you do not use your invitations by the printed expiry date, you will need to complete the registration again to receive the two complimentary invitations.
Hi Daniel, I’m a bit confused – your article about the St George Signature Amplify Visa card for Amplify rewards points states that there is no annual card fee the first year and then $279 thereafter. This article states that if you opt for the Qantas FF points on this card, then you are only eligible for a reduced annual rate the first year ($179 not $279) and then $279 thereafter…
The no annual fee promotion on the link that you attached appears to be a Qantas specific promotion. In this case, that promotion will get you a $0 annual fee in the first year rather than a discounted fee.

Hi Daniel,
Are you aware if they count local rates payment as government spending?

Hi Stone
If you wish to play it safe, I would wait for the bonus points to come through, but you could always call St. George and confirm with them as well.
Hi Daniel,
I have spent my minimum $4000 and it’s looks as though i didn’t receive the 80000 Qantas points.
Instead I received 2500 odd?
Can you shed any light to this?
Cheers
Andrew

However the information I have read states that the same $0 annual card fee for the first year applies for customers opting for Qantas reward points: https://www.stgeorge.com.au/personal/credit-cards/affiliate/amplify-signature/qantasexclusive?promoCode=Q2&cid=sc:cc:FY19_1901:oth:qf:dtop&utm_source=qf&utm_medium=oth&utm_campaign=FY19_1901
Please clarify, thanks! 🙂
