The Doha-based oneworld carrier Qatar Airways is offering a free status extension to its Privilege Club members throughout 2021, even those with free status matches from Virgin Australia earlier in 2020.

Eligible members should already have been emailed the details, but here’s everything you need to know if you need a recap.

Qatar Airways Status Extension

Qatar Airways is offering complimentary extensions to Privilege Club members with elite status. The length of the extension is from your status end-date until 31 December 2021 and applies to Silver, Gold and Platinum members whose tier is due to end this year and have not earned enough Qpoints to retain it.

The message as shown to existing Privilege Club members.

Our Privilege Club members are very important to us and we want to continue to be there for them. We understand that some of our members may need more time to plan and book their upcoming travel. That is why we are announcing today our latest tier extension as one of the many steps that Privilege Club has taken over the last year to honour the loyalty of our valued members as we navigate these difficult times together.

– Mr Thierry Antinori (Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer)

If you’re eligible, there’s absolutely nothing you need to do. Your digital membership card will be updated once your previous status end-date has passed.
