Singapore Airlines plans three fresh lounges at Changi Airport hub
Terminal 2 will no longer be the 'poor cousin' to Singapore Airlines' flagship T3 lounges.

What we'll be covering
Singapore Airlines is sprucing up the last of its lounges at Changi Airport. Following the significant overhaul of the airline’s four lounges in Terminal 3, the carrier’s trio of lounge spaces in Terminal 2 will also undergo a complete revamp.
On the menu is a new KrisFlyer Gold lounge, SilverKris Business Class Lounge and a SilverKris First Class Lounge in T2. Once completed, it’ll bring all seven of Singapore Airlines’ home hub lounges into its modern design style. And, to be fair, into a design that travellers in 2025 would connect with.
Many frequent flyers would attest that the lounges in Terminal 2 have long been overdue for a revamp. Many savvy travellers would even make the effort to take the Skytrain between Terminal 2 and 3, to use the better lounges of T3 before their Singapore Airlines flight. Once these works are completed, that largely becomes unnecessary. In turn, it may even ease the squeeze further in the T3 lounges, by encouraging travellers to explore the T2 lounge precinct.
Overall, Singapore Airlines’ lounge footprint in Terminal 2 gets a 50% boost in both space and total seating capacity. Set to cost SG$45 million (~AU$53.8 million), works are now underway and are expected to be completed ‘around mid-2027.’
This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers. Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2.

Here’s a peek at what Singapore Airlines has in store for T2.
Singapore Airlines’ new Changi Airport lounges
Work on the new facilities will take place in stages. Singapore Airlines is kicking things off by refreshing its SilverKris First Class Lounge in Changi’s T2. Work has just begun, with completion of that lounge expected in Q4 of this year.
Singapore Airlines’ most premium passengers can look forward to a renovated bar area here, complete with barista-made coffee in the mornings. (Somehow, this was long absent…) Multiple live cooking stations spanning Singaporean, Asian and Western cuisine will cook food to order. There’s also be a refreshed buffet to mirror what’s served in the Terminal 3 SilverKris First Class Lounge. Add to that, greater capacity, higher ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Next on the agenda is the SilverKris Business Class Lounge. It’s due for a 30% expansion. Plus, the upgrade works will introduce a quiet rest area with reclining seats. There’ll also be a redesigned living room area, blending a combination of productivity pods, comfortable sofas and high-backed chairs. An expanded buffer and a full-service bar (and barista coffee) complete the offerings here. Work on this space is set to commence in Q4 2025.
As for the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, prepare for a significant overhaul. This facility is doubling in size and is finally introducing on-site restrooms and shower facilities – which again, had somehow not been included in the original design of the existing home hub lounge. (Hooray, we hear you say!) Works on this lounge will begin in the first half of 2026.

Singapore Airlines hasn’t shared target completion dates for the SilverKris Business Class Lounge or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge specifically. However, work across the entire project is expected to finish around the middle of 2027. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 remain linked airside, allowing passengers to visit the appropriate lounge in either terminal, regardless of which terminal their onward flight departs from. Keep that in mind if the renovation works are a little noisy!
Accessing the lounges
Want to experience Singapore Airlines’ Changi Airport lounges for yourself? Here’s how to make the cut – both now, and after the renovations.
- KrisFlyer Gold Lounge: Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Gold plus other Star Alliance Gold frequent flyers travelling with a Star Alliance airline. Velocity Gold and Platinum members are also welcome when departing on a Singapore Airlines operated flight.
- Business Class SilverKris Lounge: Primarily designed for Business Class passengers on Singapore Airlines and other Star Alliance flights. Also welcomes Singapore Airlines PPS Club members travelling with Singapore Airlines in any cabin.
- First Class SilverKris Lounge: Serves First Class passengers of Singapore Airlines and other Star Alliance carriers departing from Terminal 3. (The Private Room remains available for Singapore Airlines’ own passengers in Terminal 2). Singapore Airlines Solitaire PPS Club members and Virgin Australia Beyond cardholders can also visit when travelling in any cabin on Singapore Airlines only.
Point Hacks pro tip: Ensure your frequent flyer number is correctly linked with your boarding pass at check-in so that your lounge invitation is displayed on the boarding pass for easy entry. Alternatively, you can also show your membership card at the lounge reception desk. That’s handy if you’d prefer to credit your miles to Singapore Airlines’ own KrisFlyer program, while using the lounge privileges conferred via status held in another Star Alliance program or with Velocity.
