Outdoor enthusiasts will be familiar with the popular clothing and equipment brand Kathmandu. High-quality apparel, accessories and adventure gear are at its core – and you can earn discounts and other rewards through Kathmandu’s revamped loyalty program, Out There Rewards. Here’s what’s on offer for members.

This is part of our loyalty program series, where we explore programs outside of the frequent flyer space. There are lots of ways to save with purchases, so you can treat yourself more on your next holiday.

Benefits of Kathmandu’s Out There Rewards program

Out There Rewards operates on a tiered structure. You’ll earn points for each dollar you spend at Kathmandu in-store or online, plus bonus points for completing activities ‘out there in nature’.

Here’s how many points you’ll earn:

  • Shopping at Kathmandu in-store or online: 1 point per $1 spent
  • Complete a nature activity (hike, trail, run, etc.): 1 activity = 10 points
  • Complete your profile: 10 points
  • Take exclusive surveys: up to 10 points

Points determine your level in the program – the more points you earn, the more benefits you’ll receive. Here’s a look at what you can expect from each level.

Member – 0-249 points

At the program’s entry-level tier, you’ll receive the following perks:

  • Access to member deals
  • Free delivery
  • $10 birthday voucher
  • Earn bonus points by getting out in nature (1 activity = 10 points)

Level 1 – 250-499 points

Once you’ve reached the program’s first level, you’ll enjoy all the benefits of the Member tier, plus:

  • $20 birthday voucher
  • $15 reward voucher
  • 3 months free access to AllTrails+

Level 2 – 500-1,199 points

At Level 2 of Out There Rewards, you’ll continue to access the perks of the previous two tiers, as well as:

  • $30 birthday voucher
  • $25 reward voucher & bonus gifts
  • 6 months free access to AllTrails+

Level 3 – 1,200 points and above

  • $50 birthday voucher
  • $60 reward voucher and bonus gifts
  • 12 months free access to AllTrails+

Given Kathmandu’s extensive product range, including snow gear, camping and hiking equipment, backpacks and much more, it’s easy to stock up on all your outdoor essentials in one place – and earn points and rewards while you’re at it. Just note that your Out There Rewards points expire 12 months from the date they’re earned.

How do I sign up for Kathmandu’s loyalty program?

Out There Rewards is free to join. To sign up, simply create an account online.

Ensure that you use a valid email address to join, as you’ll need this to receive your birthday and reward vouchers.

How can I maximise my rewards when shopping at Kathmandu?

If you want to earn extra rewards when shopping online at Kathmandu, you can earn Qantas Points effortlessly by clicking through the Qantas Shopping portal. Your transaction will be tracked, and you’ll earn Qantas Points for each dollar you spend on eligible items. This doesn’t affect your ability to earn Out There Rewards points, either – so you can essentially double-dip on the benefits.

Another simple hack to maximise your rewards from your purchases is to use a points-earning credit card. You’ll earn points towards a frequent flyer program, and you can apply this tip when shopping via Qantas Shopping or any other online retailer, to maximise your benefits.
