In this episode of the Point Hacks Podcast, Senior Content Producer Brandon Loo joins Tobias Venus to break down nine major Qantas point earning cards and unpack the perks that matter most for travellers and frequent flyers.

Whether you’re chasing big signup bonuses, frequent flyer perks like lounge passes, or solid earn rates on everyday spending, this episode is a great place to kick off your 2026 point hacking journey.

How to choose a Qantas Point earning Credit Card

Choosing the right card depends on your personal travel goals and spending habits:

  • Annual fee vs perks: A high fee only makes sense if the value you get back (bonus points, insurance, lounge passes) outweighs that cost.
  • Earn rates and caps: Look at where and how you’ll earn most points and whether any caps align with your actual spend.
  • Card perks: Complimentary lounge passes can be valuable and if you don’t need them, they can sometimes be gifted to companions. Complimentary travel insurance can also be a great addition but make sure to read the PDS before you travel.
