Business Class passengers will enjoy a touch of First Class indulgence with Qatar Airways rolling out caviar on selected routes. Starting 15 August, caviar will be part of the ‘dine on demand’ menu on flights between Doha and thirteen destinations.

During the launch, only Sydney and Melbourne will receive the upgraded service in Australia. The other cities are mostly worldwide powerhouses such as Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Washington and São Paulo.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President of Product Development and Design, Ms Xia Cai, says Qatar Airways takes pride in providing a ‘premium Business Class travel experience’.

“The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways’ award-winning business class experience,” she declares.

Qatar Airways A380 First Class caviar
Caviar served with accompaniments, blinis and melba toast in Qatar Airways Airbus A380 First Class.

Indeed, caviar is a staple of many airline First Class cabins, including Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Back in 2022, competitor Emirates advertised ‘unlimited’ caviar as part of the First Class experience.

The new Business Class caviar course appears to maintain most of the trimmings of its First Class counterpart. Expect slices of balik salmon, crème fraîche, chopped egg and blinis. Promotional images also show the mother-of-pearl spoon (which any caviar aficionado will insist on over a metal spoon).

Qatar Airways has yet to indicate what type of caviar it’ll serve in Business Class, and whether First Class will retain a more premium variety.
