Over the next year, Fiji Airways passengers can expect a noticeable shift in the inflight dining experience across both Business and Economy Class. The rollout begins on select long-haul flights, where Business Class will introduce on-demand dining paired with a reimagined menu.

You might even catch yourself wondering if Fiji Airways has Qatar Airways-levels of sophistication in its sights. New elements such as the trio of bakery items, separate olive oil and butter (Pepe Saya, of course) – and even a flickering artificial candle on the dining table are all signs of an airline paying great attention to detail.

Fiji Airways’ new Business Class menus

Based on my previous flights in Fiji Airways Business Class, including Dallas-Nadi on the Airbus A350, the inflight dining is already a highlight. But the airline is taking it up a notch with new dishes, such as:

  • Grilled Mahi Mahi with prawn chilli oil
  • Hamachi crudo with octopus and ponzu
  • Fijian chicken curry
  • Kumquat cheesecake

More importantly, the airline will adopt an approach that many others prefer to avoid – dine on demand. Passengers will be able to order whatever they want, whenever they want it.

Andrew Viljoen, Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director, emphasises that Fijian hospitality is at the core of the airline.

“With the initial introduction of our new Pacific Rim menu and on-demand dining, we’re delivering a fine-dining restaurant-quality experience in the sky – One that is authentically Fijian, thoughtfully crafted, and aligned with the evolving needs of today’s traveller,” he says.

Rounding out the selections are treats such as cold-press juices made in Fiji, signature cocktails and mocktails featuring local spirits and artisanal Fijian chocolate. There will even be a hand-crafted Vau flower placed on each table.

What about dining in Fiji Airways Economy?

It’s not just Business Class that will see significant improvements. Fiji Airways is also refreshing the Economy Class service, including new menu items and inclusions.

For example, on my Nadi-Dallas flight back in March 2025, I mentioned how breakfast was a bit of a letdown. ‘…it’s not the most filling breakfast for the end of a long flight. I’d also like to see more sides on the tray, such as a fruit salad.’

Happily, it seems my wish has come true as the updated menu will include more side dishes, such as the aforementioned fruit salad for breakfast and a dessert for lunch/dinner.

Point Hacks understands that the new in-flight service is already available on Airbus A350 aircraft between Melbourne and Nadi. Next up are the A350 flights between Sydney and Nadi from 19 August 2025, followed by a full rollout across all Sydney and Melbourne flights by mid-September 2025.

Brisbane flights will see the new service protocols from October 2025, and other Australian routes are scheduled through to mid-2026. The changes are expected to be completed across the whole network by July 2026.
