I’ve previously written about the benefits of Platinum status with Accor hotels – it’s a useful account to have in your back pocket, especially given their range of properties in the region.
They regularly run sign up offers for Platinum (highest-tier) status accounts, but they usually get closed down quite quickly as users find and take advantage of them.
This current offer is still open though, and has been since mid December – go for it while you still can. You can easily combine an old, lower tier account with a new one by contacting their customer service team, so there’s nothing to lose.

Thanks for the link – my Platinum is currently due for renewal after I picked up a free link this time last year. Over the time I’ve had it, it’s provided me with instant upgrades, free drinks and gifts at Sofitel and MGallery properties, and very attentive service. Earlier this year, after complaining to the manager of the Xi’an sofitel regarding various issues with our stay, I was immediately refunded the full AUD $900 for four nights stay – pretty sure this wouldn’t have happened without the Platinum status!
A $900 refund – that’s insane! Must have been a really bad stay… I’ll be putting up a quick post on how to merge LeClub accounts in the next couple of days, in case that’s of any use.
