Qantas launches reward seat finder tool

Book international classic reward seats in the one place

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can now find reward seats much more easily with the new flight reward finder tool. With a focus on international Classic Flight Rewards, the tool handily helps frequent flyers search by region or city, and also by dates and cabin class.

Searching by region makes it easier to find seats if you’re flexible, as results will include all major destinations within that area. From there, you can choose your flight, see how many reward seats are available and how much it will cost.

Looks familiar? The tool is developed in conjunction with the Australian reward seat search service, Gyoza Flights, which also offers Velocity reward seat searches and SMS alerts as part of its paid membership.

How does the reward search tool work?

The tool’s features make searching for reward seats easy and convenient, and include the following.

  • Explore reward seats by region
  • Filter by cabin type
  • Scan specific travel regions in seconds

The tool displays all available flight classes and the number of points required to book, plus any additional taxes. It also displays the number of reward seats available at the time of search, which is updated regularly.

Summing Up: Qantas Flight Reward Finder

The flight reward finder tool is an easier way to book flights with reward seats and points through Qantas or partner airlines, with regular result updates and powerful functionality.

There are still some limitations. We’d love to see the ability to filter results by including or excluding specific airlines. It would also be handy to add a ‘journey duration’ filter to exclude long transits.

It also won’t show any seats that are not available to the general public, such as those that are only available for Gold or Platinum frequent flyers to book.

Overall, this is a significant step toward making reward seats more accessible to all. We’re not blind to the fact that it may make it harder for other members to find seats with the increased ease of access, but if more people can get good value from their points overall, we’re all for that.
