Velocity inks points partnership with AGL Energy

Velocity Frequent Flyer members can tap into a new source of bonus points with energy retailer, AGL Energy, now offering Velocity Points with its electricity and gas plans.

Both new and existing customers can benefit from extra Velocity Points when switching to the ‘AGL Velocity Offer’. But with the introductory offer ending on 30 June 2024, you’ll need to start planning your switch soon.

Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO, Nick Rohrlach, says the partnership gives its (almost) 12 million members the opportunity to make the most of earning extra points with their energy plans.

We know that value continues to be important for Australians amidst the high cost of living, and this partnership opens up more possibilities for our members to stretch their dollar further using Velocity Points to redeem on flights, household goods and more.

How can I earn points with AGL?

AGL doesn’t operate in every state and territory – and in WA, it offers gas only, not electricity. Depending on where you live and what products you sign up for, you could earn:

• Electricity and Gas (VIC, NSW, QLD, SA): Sign up for both on the AGL Velocity offer and earn 30,000 Velocity Points initially and another 5,000 Velocity Points after 12 months.
• Electricity only (VIC, NSW, QLD, SA): Sign up for electricity on the AGL Velocity offer and earn 20,000 Velocity Points initially and another 2,500 Velocity Points after 12 months.
• Gas only (VIC, NSW, QLD, SA, WA): Sign up for gas on the AGL Velocity offer and earn 10,000 Velocity Points initially and another 2,500 Velocity Points after 12 months.
• Existing customers: Switch your existing AGL product/s to the AGL Velocity offer and earn 3,000 Velocity Points per gas and/or electricity product.

AGL was previously a partner with Flybuys, but that arrangement ended in 2021.
