If I’ve booked Bris > Melb with stopover in Syd, does that count as 2 flights?
I onky saw the offer after I booked my flights . My flights were booked this morning (5 June), I then noticed this offer in the evening and activated it (5 June – same day). As I’ve booked the flights in the prior stated in the promotion, would I still get the bonus even tho i activated the offer after (about 6 hours later ♂️)
What ended up happening? Were your flights still eligible?
Brandon, your article says “All eligible bookings will earn triple Status Credits”
Is this over and above the bonus status credits?
From the app:
We’re giving Velocity members a chance to boost their Status with up to 125 bonus Status Credits , when they activate this offer and fly on 2+ eligible Virgin Australia flights for business travel by 31 March 2025*.
Plus, you’ll get 10 bonus Velocity Points for every eligible flight booked and flown between 28 January – 31 March 2025^.
We’re giving Velocity members a chance to boost their Status with up to 125 bonus Status Credits , when they activate this offer and fly on 2+ eligible Virgin Australia flights for business travel by 31 March 2025*.
Fly 2 flights = 45 bonus Status Credits
Fly 3 flights = 65 bonus Status Credits
Fly 4 flights = 85 bonus Status Credits
Fly 5 flights = 105 bonus Status Credits
Fly 6+ flights = 125 bonus Status Credits
Eligible business travel must either be booked via virginaustralia.com with an ABN attached, booked through the Virgin Australia Business Flyer booking portal, or booked via your Travel Management Company.
That’s a different offer.
The T&C’s are ambiguously written as usual.
“You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated.”
Does this mean that bonus SC are added 4 weeks after my flight, or 4 weeks after the end of the promotional period?
If I have booked tickets during this period, like in June, would I still be eligible? or is this only eligible for new bookings from today?
Hi XI, it needs to be a new booking made from now until 29 May.
I haven’t received status credits yet, did 2 flights, booked before hand and flew before 28/3. nothing yet.
I haven’t received bonus status credits yet. Activated the offer and made 5 flights inside the offer dates.
I still haven’t received the status credits – does anyone know who we contact to chase it up?
No. Still waiting.
Anyone got them yet?
Mine just came through
Still waiting…
Has anyone received their bonus status credits yet?
Family of 4 travelling on 28/3/24 would count as 4 eligible flights or a single flight?
It would count as a single flight for each traveller.
Out of interest would this bonus be available for flights booked before the offer period started?
If I fly more than 6 flights will I get a bonus 125 SC for every additional flight?
Unfortunately, the bonus SCs are capped at 6 flights. You won’t earn any more than the 125 SCs.
Interesting. I can’t see that in the T&C’s it also says 6+ 125 SC.
Hi , I read “Even if you activate the offer after booking or travel, eligible flights booked a flown during the Promotion Period will still be eligible for bonus Status Credits.”
We booked flights in December 2023 for next week… so we will get the bonus SCs?
I could not find this in the terms..
Great way to very quickly diminish the value of Status and the Brand overall. If you don’t fly no status-applies to family pooling SC as well. Almost impossible to use Platinum benefits as is let alone buy a business seat.
If bookings are made via Virgin Business Flyer, does the double SC offer still apply?
Can see this has been asked a few times, I’m not sure I even trust calling the call centre on this one. Anyone tried it yet?
Hi Bel, it shouldn’t matter where you purchase your ticket from – only that it was purchased during the offer period and the flights are eligible.
Thanks Brandon.
Yeah BH, I did call the call centre, but the operator just seemed to read the T&C’s about the offer to me; they didn’t seem to be intimately across the ins and outs of the offer. They said that the offer should apply, but only based on reading the T&C’s that are available online about the offer.
So – I’ve booked – if I remember, will come back here to update to confirm I did get the double SC 🙂
Cheers.
I received an offer last month as part of Virgin Business Flyer.
Earn 60+ status credits and get bonus 100SC.
Any idea if this new offer will essentially give me
60SC+100SC as part of the previous offer as well as another 60+100 for this double SC offer? Or do you think it willonly be double SC on the original SC earnt of 60SC? so therefore
60SC+60SC+100SC
Hi John, double Status Credits only applies to the actual SCs would you earn from flying, so the additional 100 SC from Business Flyer would not be doubled.
Does double status available for booking via online travel agent such as Expedia?
Hi Winston, tickets issued through travel agents are eligible as long as you activate the offer first and the booking is created (and paid) within the timeline of the offer.
Would the double status credits still apply if booked by Virgin Business Flyer?
Did anyone confirm if this is eligable way to make the bookings? I just don’t want to book via business flyer programme and not get the double status credits….
I booked flights yesterday (for travel in September) and THEN saw the offer (and activated it).
In circumstances where I activated the offer after booking but before travel, will I still get the double SCs?
Thanks
Luke did the same for another offer in Feb. Partner forgot to activate their offer, booked & Im freaking out that we’d lose the offer but bcz the activation was before the offer expired even after booking it went through. Call Velocity if you’re concerned. Cheers Lisa
I need to travel for business before 31 March but don’t have exact dates.
Wondering if booking flex for a date, and then changing it would still qualify for the double?
The best SC-run for mine was MEL-CNS via BNE (not direct) – earned 640 SCs and 4 sectors for under $1,700 on Virgin Australia.
Does this apply to retrospectively booked flights for this period?
I booked a flight a couple of weeks ago, for end of February.
Cheers,
Mick.
Hi Mick, it doesn’t unfortunately. New bookings only. You could cancel and rebook if the fees are reasonable and if you think it’s worth it.
Will bookings I already before the offer turned up made be eligible? I already booked a business fare for March 16 returning March 17
All very nice, but there is a glaring problem.
As you observe many members have a reset date at end February (mine is in just 11 days).
As you also observe (extracting the published) terms, bonus status credits can take 4 weeks to post.
That means that those bonus credits could credit AFTER the review date of members.
IIRC there can be a grace period before status steps down…?
My experience with Virgin is that SC’s get posted to my account within 48 hours of completion of a sectors, 4 weeks was only only for international flights with a partner airline.
