World360 Rewards: earn points on travel and everyday spend

Maximise points on travel and everyday purchases you were going to make anyway.

World360 Rewards is positioning itself differently from other travel loyalty programs. Rather than asking members to choose between earning points with an airline, hotel program, or credit card, the Flight Centre Travel Group loyalty program is designed to let you stack multiple rewards on the same transaction.

That can mean potentially earning World360 Rewards points, airline points and credit card points from a single booking. And while the program is built around travel, its partner network extends well beyond flights and hotels. In fact, even your supermarket shop could be bringing you closer to your next holiday.

The triple-dip: three types of points from one purchase

Triple dipping with travel

Point Hacks readers are always on the lookout to stack more value from purchases they were going to make anyway. That’s where ‘double dipping’ or even ‘triple dipping’ comes into place. Imagine booking a flight through Flight Centre. You could potentially earn:

  1. World360 Rewards points
Earn points for the eligible travel booking.
  2. Airline frequent flyer points
Add your frequent flyer number and earn the relevant airline’s points and, where applicable, status credits. This depends on the fare class of your airfare.
  3. Credit card points
Pay for the booking with a rewards credit card and earn your card’s points.

That’s three separate types of rewards from one transaction. Travel agents, such as Flight Centre, are particularly useful with complicated flight itineraries and multi-stop packages.

Book your journey through Flight Centre and earn World360 Rewards points on top of any applicable airline points.

Triple dipping with everyday partners

The same principle can extend beyond flights.

If you buy something through an eligible World360 Rewards Shopping partner, you may be able to earn World360 Rewards points through the portal, earn the retailer’s own loyalty currency where eligible, and then pay with a rewards credit card. Shopping for a new outfit? Here’s an example:

  1. World360 Rewards points
Earn points for buying Myer gift cards (up to 8 points per dollar)
  2. Myer One points
Scan your rewards card to also earn Myer One points on the transaction. These are still earned even when you pay with a Myer gift card.
  3. Credit card points
Pay for your shopping with a rewards credit card and earn your card’s points.

Just keep in mind that each retailer, loyalty program, and payment method has its own terms and exclusions. For example, some partners may not award their own points when paying with a gift card.

World360 Rewards partners: where you can earn

Through travel bookings

There are several ways to earn World360 Rewards points. The most obvious is through the Flight Centre Travel Group brands participating in the program: Flight Centre, Travel Associates and Cruiseabout. Members can earn points on eligible completed bookings with these brands, up to 3 points per dollar.

  • Flights: 1 point per dollar
  • Accommodation: 3 points per dollar (hotels, apartments and homes)
  • Cruises: 2 points per dollar (ocean and river, excludes ferries)
  • Extended group tours: 3 points per dollar
  • Packages: 3 points per dollar (flights and accommodation bundled)
  • Transport: 3 points per dollar (car hire, transfers and rail passes)
  • Travel insurance: 3 points per dollar
  • Captain’s Pack (Flight Centre) and Cruising Essentials (Cruiseabout): 3 points per dollar

You might also be able to combine your booking with operator-specific offers. We’ve seen deals such as double or triple World360 Rewards points when booking certain airlines, or 10-40,000 bonus points if you book a tour with a specific operator. Keep an eye out for those opportunities.

Through everyday spend

The program also has a growing network of everyday and financial partners. Some of the current examples include:

What’s truly impressive is the variety of gift cards that earn you points, including a solid 2 points per dollar with Aldi gift cards. There are very limited ways to earn points at Aldi, given their focus on value rather than loyalty programs – so having access to bonus points is a savvy way to stack your rewards.

Shop at Aldi regularly? Turn those gift cards into bonus World360 Rewards points.

If you regularly spend around $100/week on groceries at Aldi, you could earn 10,400 World360 Rewards points over the course of a year via Aldi gift cards. That’s enough to redeem an airline lounge pass at certain locations, just from your regular weekly shop.

Other gift card options include Amazon (1 point per dollar), Coles (2 points per dollar), JB Hi-Fi (3 points per dollar), The Good Guys (4 points per dollar), Rebel (5 points per dollar) and Myer (8 points per dollar).

World360 Rewards also runs regular bonus points offers on major retailers, so members should keep an eye on the app for extra ways to boost their balance on the things they’re already buying.

Where can you spend World360 Rewards points?

World360 Rewards points can ultimately be used for travel through participating Flight Centre Travel Group brands, including flights, hotels, cruises, tours and other travel experiences. However, this is just through a Points + Pay model, where a minimum of 5,000 points is required.

Points can also be used for a reward in the World360 Rewards Store, where you use a fixed number of points to redeem the reward. You don’t need a lot of points to get started – as mentioned, lounge passes are a popular pick for around 10,000 points per person. You can also get hotel stays in the range of 30-40,000 points a night.

If you become very involved in World360 Rewards, having a balance of hundreds of thousands of points could unlock some pretty cool rewards and bucket list experiences, such as VIP Formula 1 packages, concert tickets with extra perks, and even cruises!

For example, 330,676 World360 Rewards Points could unlock a cabin with Holland America Line for two, cruising Alaska’s Inside Passage over seven unforgettable days – with dining and port fees all included.

Summing up

The biggest opportunity with World360 Rewards isn’t necessarily earning a huge number of points from one program. It’s stacking the rewards that you’re already entitled to earn.

The best example is a flight: earn World360 Rewards points for booking through Flight Centre, earn airline points for taking the flight, then earn credit card points for paying for it. The same philosophy can apply to everyday purchases through the World360 Rewards partner network.
