What's a good secondary card to earn Krisflyer with $500-$1k spend per month?

Hey everyone!

Awesome website and forum. I’ve setup my accounts using the ‘Barefoot Investor’ model, and so I need another credit card to complement my WBC Altitude Black.

Given I’ll only be spending $500 - $1k per month on this card, I’m guessing I’ll be better off with a cheap annual fee card that comes with a decent bonus.

Ideally, I’d like a card that earns ‘bank’ points which I can then transfer to KrisFlyer (usually) and others like Asia Miles and so on.

I’m unsure if it’s worth paying much of an annual fee given my low spend.

David.

you have answered your own question already. Turnover is too low to support the annual fees.\r\n\r\nFor me, I think a credit card that doesnt charge international fees is a must, because almost everyone will get hit with that fee at some point.\r\n\r\nMaybe do the sums on the ANZ travellers, the annual fee is somewhat offset by other benefits that may work for you.\r\n\r\nYou are right on the Barefoots advice. He recommends not using credit cards but thats the advice for people who are struggling. If you are controlling your spending, IMO you are nuts not to earn free money from rewards points

Good idea. Those fees do at up. \r\n\r\n Anything else to consider other than the 28° one ?

Hi David,

Unfortunately, financial advice cannot be given on this website. Choice of credit card is a form of financial advice.

I would have thought WBC Altitude Black comes with both Amex and non-Amex card. What other card do you need? Or do you just need a different card for a different "bucket’?

I thought Barefoot Investing advocate cutting up of credit cards.

Consider the Coles one which earns velocity points and no international surcharges and a low annual fee
