Any experience with Velocity status credits on Etihad codeshare and Singapore Airlines?

Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone had experience or know the answer to 2 questions. I have pooling on with the missus and trying to get her to Velocity Gold so she may enjoy the benefits when she travels for work. (Essentially starting from 20 credits so long way to go)

  1. We’re travelling from Rome to Melbourne in business class one way flying Etihad codeshare with Alitalia Rome(FCO)-London(AUH) and Etihad London(AUH)-Melbourne(MEL). My understanding is Etihad codeshares won’t earn status credits but given it is on Alitalia who are also Virgin partners will I be able to claim a manual status credit with the FCO-AUH segment?

  2. Looking at booking return Economy Melbourne(MEL)-Guangzhou(CAN) in May for myself and considering going the longer route via Singapore to get status credits. Their lowest Economy fares seem to only earn 10% points as per SIA booking page, however even their lowest economy fares seem to earn around 100 status credits return as per Velocity partner charts (I think an N or K fare when I searched). Would this be correct?

Many thanks in advance for your answers!!

Cant answer 2 Sorry, but for 1 its not the case, I came back Venice > AUH on a EY Codeshare on Altalia and wasn’t eligible

Hi,

Just to add, it really depends on your fare code. Please see the following link for eligible fare codes
