Is there a trick to getting a reward flight from Australia to the USA with Velocity points?
There seems to just be zero availability all of the time.
I was up late the other night so logged on to the site pretty much s soon as the next day’s flights were available and it just said ‘SOLD OUT’ for all of them. The date was not even available to select on the search screen, but searching for the day before then clucking ‘next day’ on the results page showed that all of the flights were sold out (except I think one Singapore Airlines one which required like 50% more points than the Virgin ones).
That sounds pretty frustrating. I can’t say I have done the look for a year in advance dance with Velocity before, so don’t have personal experience to offer about whether this is new or not.\r\n\r\nWhat I can input…\r\n\r\nI have been looking for Business Seats to LAX from SYD/BNE for April/March next year and some dates have popped up with 1 or 2 seats here and there. There is some availability to be had for those dates, not much. \r\n\r\nInterested to know if you are searching for PER - LAX, or SYD/BNE - LAX also? Perhaps the PER-East Coast flights are proving troublesome for some reason if the former.\r\n\r\nHave you tried calling Velocity too to express your frustration and get them to look as well?
Hi Keith,\r\n\r\nThanks for your advice. I will try giving them a call next week.\r\n\r\nI did think of that as I noticed that BNE/SYD to LAX is easier to find for sure so I think you’re right. I would be happy to fly economy to Brisbane or Sydney if I could fly business to the USA but I don’t know if its possible to search for that as as option but I guess I could call them.\r\n\r\nThanks\r\n\r\nPhil
