Next month I am doing a trip with Singapore Airlines that could earn earn me Gold status with Krisflyer. However I already have Platinum status with Velocity.
Is it worth crediting the points/status to Krisflyer or better to build more points/status with Velocity? I note that I can gift a gold membership to my partner with enough points.

I will just reply (my 2cents) due to the lack of response.
It really depends whether you want to earn Velocity pts or Krisflyer miles. And also whether you plan to start building status with Krisflyer. Singapore Air also has a separate type or status /club called PPS club, where you earn status by the amount of $ you spend with Singapore Air.
This is a bit similar to Marco Polo club vs Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific’s FF program).
