Hey there, I have no shortage of both Qantas or Velocity FF points and I hold Gold status with Velocity. I need to buy a return flight from LAX-YVR and seeing options that work using cash with Air Canada, Westjet or United on Skyscanner. Is there a way I can transfer points to another partner airline and try using points? Or if I book my flight with cash, preferred airlines to get status and points? I am thinking United due to my Velocity.
You don’t need to transfer points to use your Qantas points as they partner with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, both of which have direct flights between LAX and YVR. It would be 24,000 - 28,000 points (return) plus taxes. You can search and book the flights on Qantas’ website using the multi-city booking feature.
