Hi, I’m Velocity Gold and QFF Red, and just got a ‘Touch of Gold’ Air NZ status match for 6 months. Planning a trip to Tahiti, do I go ANZ, get lounge access but stuck with a small amount of points, go QF and add to my 100 000 points (useful)? Can I transfer ANZ Airpoints to QFF or Velocity?
With Air NZ you might not earn many Airpoints, but the beauty of Airpoints is that they are very easy to use towards part of any Air NZ flight in future.
Have you considered if these flights might enable you to maintain your gold status? And will that be of use in future, for example with subsequent star alliance flights?
You can’t transfer Airpoints to QFF or Velocity. The closest I can think of is flying Air NZ, once in the lounge ask staff to change your rewards details from Air New Zealand to Singapore Airline’s Kris Flyer and afterwards transfer your Kris Flyer points to Velocity. However, note that some fare classes, especially cheap economy seats, won’t earn points or will have a measly rate in Kris Flyer, and there is a minimum transfer of 5000 points. In that case I think you’d be better off with a few NZ Airpoints that are easy to use in future.
No, in general you cannot transfer points/miles between different programs.
