Reapplying credit cards - do I still qualify for sign up bonuses?

Hi Hackers,

Got a question for some of the more sophisticated point hackers out there. I went through and cleaned up a lot of the credit card offers available on this site, met the minimum and closed them. Some of the cards are nearing their 12 months since close, and was looking at the latest round of offers with a view to considering reapplying for a few of the cards (well roll the dice and see if they approve) to get the points on offer.

I noticed in the ANZ Visa T’s & C’s the following statement - Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card within the previous twelve months. This offer applies only once per eligible customer

If I read that right, does it mean that you can only apply for the card once and you aren’t eligible to claim again?

Hi,

The way I read it and AFAIK, its not once in a life time (if you get what I mean). Once you closed your credit card account and served any periods (typically 12-18 mths if any) without holding the named cards, you are eligible for the offered sign up bonus - T&C usually states any conditions.
