Is it possible to access Virgin Atlantic lounge as a Velocity Gold member flying Singapore Airlines?

I’m just about to get my son the complimentary Gold Card with velocity. He is just about to head off to the UK in Singapore flying in economy. We are trying to work out if he would be able to access the Virgin Atlantic lounge (the holy grail of lounges IMO for a 21 yo uni student!) at LHR - Flight is booked and coded as SQ. This page suggest gold members will have access to Singapore Silver Kris Lounge in LHR.

Thanks Warren  - I was hoping there would be some magic trick that he could pull  - he will just be grateful with the Singapore lounge I’m sure!
