Have I calculated my Qantas Oneworld redemption point cost wrongly?

I have just booked award tickets through QFF in J flying BNE to HKG with CX and HKG to HEL with AY (less than 24 hour stopover in HKG). The points cost was 143,000 QFF points each. However, having checked the distance on Great Circle Mapper, it appears that the total distance is 9,165 miles (or 9,172 if you count the short CX stop in CNS). Based on the QFF Partner Classic award table, this appears to be in zone 9 which is 121,000 points. I called QFF and they just ran a the calculator on their website and confirmed it would be 143,000 points. Does anyone know if there is a problem with their calculator or have I missed something? I thought that one stopover less than 24 hours didn’t trigger the separate points calculation for each flight but perhaps I’m wrong?

That is awfully strange, nathanaellee. They are pricing it as 2 separate awards even when the stopover in HKG is less than 24 hours. Personally, I would escalate it to a supervisor or manager or hang up and call again (HUACA).

Qantas Frequent Flyer terms state that a trip must not change to or from an airline when using the partner award chart. If so, each airline prices individually.
