With your latest article about expertflyer can you explain again about when to sign up. I’m looking at awards flights to fly next July/august in business for a multi city/rtw fare. My last flight would be 26 august 2018 from Vancouver

It really depends on your redemption strategy. Do you already have points/miles required? Are they fixed or flexible like Amex MR points?
You mentioned a multicity RTW. I am guessing it is with Qantas points. Depending on which oneworld airline you wish to fly on, they release dates at different time. Some 330 days in advance. Some 360, etc.
If you haven’t tried EFlyer before, I would recommend trying the 5 days premium for free.
Realistically speaking, if you only have the RTW trip in July/Aug 2018 in mind and you want to book 11/12 months in advance, I would probably pay for August and September 2017 (paying monthly).
