Etihad Guest miles expiry with flybuys transfers?

I have just transferred some flybuy points to Etihad Guest. The main problem I see with this program is that the points expire in one year…probably won’t get to use them!

Hi Richard,

Thanks for raising this issue - it’s an important one.

As far as can see the Etihad Guest points will last for a minimum of two years. (http://www.etihadguest.com/en/earn-miles/how/)

Unless the Flybuys transfers are treated differently?

Remember you can always use them on Virgin Australia for domestic flights.

Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes, I did read the same on the Etihad website , however, I have just checked my Etihad Guest account and it states that my points will expire on Sept 3oth 2016. I had transferred my Flybuy points on Oct. 23rd. Not sure if there is a different deal for Flybuy but will try to find out as this could be a big disincentive to transfer points.

Hi Keith,

Tks for that.

Fortunately, I have only transferred the minimum 10000FB points.

No, I didn’t have any miles previously, I only joined EG last week, prior to the points transfer.

It will be interesting to see if any body else has the same issue.

Cheers

Richard
