Family of 5 (3 adults 2 kids) wanting business class to New York - we have just over 1 million points - dates 22 June ADL to NYC and Return 11 July NYC to ADL. Would ideally like SQ direct fight from Singapore to EWR however can’t book via VA call centre. What would be the best option?

It is going to be rather challenging to redeem business class for 5 on the same flight. Have you tried looking for less seats like 2? Try searching for saver award seats on the Singapore Airlines website too for the individual legs to confirm availability. If Krisflyer doesn’t show award space, it is unlikely Velocity will see seats.
You can also consider splitting the 5 into 2 travel parties. Not ideal but may have to make do if they only release 2 or 3 seats per flight.
If you see award seats, try hanging up and calling again - some agents are better than others.
