Should I collect Qantas or Velocity points if my goal is a "Round The World" redemption?

I’ve read the articles talking about the pros and cons of each offer.

My end goal is to get"Round the world" ticket… and I’m happy to work towards it over the next year. Which frequent flyer program am I best putting my energy towards?

As far as I know, Qantas is the way to go. Oneworld redemptions are one of the most efficient use of Qantas points; allowing stopovers.

Velocity doesn’t allow this on a single redemption.
