One of the comments from the Qantas Frequent Flyer team from the Q&A session I attended earlier this week seemed to allude that the take-up of Qantas Cash wasn’t blowing them away.

Given that, this promotion seems like a driver for people to get their Qantas Cash accounts setup, and to get people to start using the product.

The promotion that interests me most is a footnote on the promotion webpage and in the email – the offer of 2,500 points for $250 spent on the card by April 27th. The qualifying requirements are that you need to register for the promotion, and hit then spend over $250 equivalent in any currency Qantas Cash supports.

I’ll be taking advantage of this – the points are worth at least $25 to me. I activated my Qantas Cash account last year, but didn’t get very far with using it – instead I used the Virgin Australia equivalent quite heavily while on our recent European trip, their product seemed easier to use, and the app they’ve built to to manage the account is excellent.

Alongside the 2,500 points promotion is the opportunity to win a trip to New York with an entry into the promotion every time you make a purchase with your card.

This offer came around a week ago, so I’m slow to the mark in posting it, sorry!
