Has anyone had any luck getting flights to Colombo with Velocity and have any tips for snagging a business rewards flight?
I cant seem to find any flight availability for any day, while Singapore Air has available pretty much any day. I want to avoid transferring to Krisflyer miles because the point redemption isnt as good - 65k velocity points vs 70k krisflyer miles.
Alternatively, has anyone had any experience booking a rewards flight and having an ongoing paid flight? Can you book your baggage through the entire way?
It is unlikely that your bag can be checked all the way through as it's 2 separate bookings. Most airlines will not do it. There are a few exceptions I think Qatar or if you are a platinum frequent flyer of that airline.
You have not said what time of year you want to fly. But from the sounds of it no more seats are left for velocity members.
Could just be Singapore holding back seats for their own frequent flyers. I’ve had some challenges finding seats on the VA site for partner airlines when the partner now program is showing availability. Have you tried calling the Velocity to check?
Otherwise maybe try the seats return SIN then use a budget (Scoot) to Colombo?
