Help needed with planning 2018 RTW with Krisflyer - best way to book?

Hello, I posted a question a year ago and had two very helpful answers about our retirement trip next year. Still have the 500k award points and if necessary I can transfer another 100k in now. I’m ready to call KrisFlyer and try booking our trip but just wondering about a couple of things. So we’re going Business class and really would like Singapore’s A380 or A350 when possible, would prefer Zurich when arriving in Europe as we want to travel on the “Bernina Express” (hubby was railways for 49yrs) and then tour Italy plus river cruise Budapest to Amsterdam. Will make our way over to UK and then come back to Europe for a bit more touring. Then FRA to JFK and about a month later either leaving from SFO or LAX. This is all over at least three months. We are pretty flexible with our dates and looking at leaving from mid May 2018. I’ll book the other stuff around whatever dates we get for flights. Does this sound ok? If we use the RTW award are we allowed to go via SIN leaving and coming back and have a stopover for a few days just one time? Or would I have to book separate sections to get what we want? Thank you. Sixtyplus

Hi,

Since you mentioned that you are fairly flexible, it should work out fine for you based on what you have suggested.

I believe it still cost 240k Krisflyer for a Star Alliance RTW award per passenger.

I would suggest Aust-SIN-ZRH-FRA-JFK-SFO-SIN-Aust. Should be well under the 35000 mile limit for RTW.

You are allowed to stopover in up to 7 cities.

Good luck.
