Is Westpac Altitude Black still a good choice after the recent devaluation of Altitude points?

Hi there,

I am hoping that someone can help me with my confusion on which credit cards to use. I thought I had it all worked out, when I spent some time investigating the credit card table.

I selected two credit cards:
-St George Amplify (for most of my spending)
-Westpac Altitude black (for here and there spending)

I already have NAB Velocity cards that I had been using, which I was planning to cancel quite soon and get rid of them.
I am wondering if that is now the right decision with the changes to the points on Altitude black.

Could someone who understands this situation better please offer some guidance?

Cheers,

Skafhold

Hey Skafhold - unfortunately we can’t offer personal card recommendations here. However if you have any specific questions on particular cards we can try to help.

St. George Amplify Signature Visa has a new offer starting today for 30,000 Qantas Points and reduced first year annual fee, btw.

Hi Keith,

I guess I just wanted to know if the Westpac Altitude Black is still a good choice for an Amex/Mastercard credit card. Are my current points effected? Are there better choices to replace it?

Cheers,
