I’ve booked a discount economy (class O) flight from Adelaide to Edinburgh and business saver( class I) from Edinburgh to Adelaide. Shld I claim Qantas points or Qmiles?
It all depends on what you want to achieve from the points/status and what your current points/status balance is with the 2 programs.
you’re asking a vague question. do you intend to fly Qatar regularly? Qatar flights offer much lower status credits than similar Emirates/Qantas coded flights.

As others have mentioned, it depends on what FF program you wish to continue to earn in. Whether you are chasing status, etc. Everyone’s priority and goals are different.
No point earning 2x the miles/point in a FF program that you struggle to use.
