Booking flight tickets - Are there any ways to earn more points along the way?

Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur. I was just going to book a direct flight with Malaysian airlines or even a cheap flight with Jetstar. Any ideas on a better method that would yield more points? Thanks

Some suggestions:

  • Google "book flight and earn more points" - there are a couple of options there.
  • https://www.pointhacks.com.au/guide-to-using-cashrewards/ for some cashback options
  • Book through Amex Travel for additional points when paying with and Amex issued card

If it is about Qantas Points, then flying Malaysia Airlines between Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur is going to be disappointing. The structure of the earnings table is such that you get a pittance doing this.

Much more rewarding to take Qantas to Singapore then a Jetstar Asia flight up to KL.
