London return business on points - how to improve the return flight itinerary (currently multi-stop)?

Well I’ve accomplished step one and have booked a business class flight in January to the UK return via points. I’m flying;

Sydney (SYD) > Dubai (DXB)
1.5hr transfer
Dubai (DXB) > Gatwick, London (LGW)

I’m okay with that, the transfer allowed makes me nervous but great airline and aircraft (Emirates/A380).

Coming home there seems to be NO business classic reward flights out of England to Sydney. So I’m flying;

Heathrow, London (LHR) > Nice (NCE)
6hr wait
Nice (NCE) > Dubai (DXB)
10hr wait
Dubai (DXB) > Bangkok (BKK)
Stopover
Bangkok (BKK) > Sydney (SYD)

I don’t so mind the waiting and the time in the air, but it really eats into my holiday time on the ground. First leg leaves 0820 4/2/18 and I don’t get home until 0900 6/2/18.

Can anyone suggest a better way home?

Thank you

Try looking at flights to Dublin. You should be able to get there for around $100 and then use points to fly Dubai and sydney. Flights to Dublin typically leave LHR about every hour so you can choose which suits you best to maximise holiday time. Just be mindful that you will need to collect bags and go through check in etc in Dublin.

aer Lingus has a good deal where you can buy a cheap flight and add flexibility for a small fee which lets you get an earlier flight if there’s availability.
